1st day: Luxor – Nile Cruise – Day 1

We will meet you at your hotel, airport, train station or bus stop; You will recognize our driver by the sign with your name in his hands. He will take you to the pier in Luxor, where he will be waiting for the ship, on which he will immediately be accommodated. The excursion program will begin with a visit to  the West Bank of Luxor, where you will make a short stop,  to take a look at the 3,400-year-old Colossi of Memnon, the giant statues guarding the now-defunct temple, and see the pharaohs’ tombs with colorful drawings in the Valley of the Kings. Another visit awaits you – Medinet Abu with the mortuary temple of Ramses III. The façade is decorated with huge statues of Ramses in the guise of the ancient Egyptian god Osiris, well-preserved pylons and walls, as well as more than 7000 square meters of wall reliefs.  which are not only pleasing to the eye, but also tell us about the history of Egypt. Get ready for another attraction –  the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, who created it for herself of extraordinary architecture, with columns, a hypostyle hall and many statues, paintings and bas-reliefs. The evening is completely at your disposal. Dinner on board the ship.

2nd day: Luxor – Esna – Nile Cruise – Day 2

Breakfast on board the ship. Today you will visit the East Bank of  Luxor with its Karnak Temple, which is one of the largest and most famous temples, quite well preserved with giant columns and colored reliefs, thanks to the architecture of which you can feel the religious cult of the ancient Egyptians. Later, you will visit the Luxor Temple, a beautiful ancient building that combines different eras. After lunch, you will sail to Esna, where you will see the remains of the most beautiful temples from the Greco-Roman period. Dinner on board the ship.

3rd day: Edfu – Kom Ombo – Nile Cruise – Day 3

Breakfast on board the ship. Today you will visit  the Temple of Edfu. It is the best-preserved temple dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, which took almost 200 years to build, and its beautifully decorated walls give a complete picture of the myths of Ancient Egypt. On the way to Kom Ombo, you will be offered lunch, after which you will visit the unusual double temple of Kom Ombo, one wing of which is dedicated to the god Sobek (in the form of a crocodile) and the other to the god Haroris (in the form of a falcon).

4th day: Aswan – Nile Cruise – Day 4

Breakfast on board the ship. Today you will visit the gigantic Upper Dam of the Aswan High Dam, the greatest achievement of architecture and technology of the 20th century, and the Unfinished Obelisk, ancient granite left in the quarries. Lunch will be at one of the local restaurants in the city. Then you will take a walk to Kitchener’s Island  in the amazing Botanical Gardens, a green and peaceful oasis in the middle of the bustling city and visit the island of Elephantine with its famous nilometer (a well connected to the great river and served to warn of floods), ancient ruins and Nubian villages. And finally, you will see  the temple of Philai, which was saved from extinction by the flood of Lake Nasser by dismantling it and restoring it to a higher place. The evening is completely at your disposal. Dinner on board the ship.

5th day: Kalabsha Temple & Beit El Wali – Nile Cruise – Day 5 – Lake Nasser Cruise – Day 1

Breakfast on board the ship, then you will sail to another ship on which you will continue your journey, but this time on  Lake Nasser. Later, you will go to the New Kalabsha Temple Complex, where there are some ancient temples that were moved here from their former location. First of all, you will see  the Kalabsha Temple, which was built of sandstone around 30 BC and is dedicated to the Nubian god of fertility, Mandulis. Although the temple was not actually finished, it is considered one of the best examples of ancient Egyptian architecture in Nubia. Then you will see the temple of  Beit el-Wali, built by Ramses II. The most interesting reliefs, covered with the bright paint of that clock, tell the story of the great era of Ramses II. Finally, you will see the charming Kiosk of Kertassi, built in the Roman era, whose columns depict the four faces of the goddess.

6th day: Temples of Wadi es-Sebia – Lake Nasser Cruise – Day 2

After breakfast on board the ship, you will visit Wadi es-Sebia with its temples. The Temple of Amun was built by Ramses II in the Nubian style, partly in the rock and partly outside. Here you can see one remaining pylon, statues, a pronaos, a hypostyle hall (once installed in a Christian church) and three chapels; there are numerous reliefs throughout, including images from the Ptolemaic dynasty and the Roman period. Greco-Roman Temple of Dhaka, dedicated to Thoth, the god of wisdom, was originally built as a small room in the 3rd century BC, but was later expanded at the expense of other rulers. It consists of a 12-metre-high pylon in almost perfect condition, decorated in high relief with images on numerous graffiti by its ancient visitors. The Temple of Maharak was built in the Roman era and is dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Isis. It was not completely completed and painted. You will visit a court surrounded on three sides by columns. It is the only temple in Nubia with a spiral staircase leading to the roof.

7th day: Temples of New Amada and Qaser Ibrim – Lake Nasser Cruise – Day 3

Today you will visit New Amada with the remains of temples that were moved from another area that was flooded by Lake Nasser. You will see  the Temple of Amada, which was moved to a new place in one piece (!). Inside it there are well-preserved beautiful small reliefs describing scenes from the life of the pharaohs in bright colors. It is the oldest temple in Nubia. Next, you will visit  the Temple of Derr, carved into the rock and built by Ramses II, has unusually bright and lively reliefs inherent only in ancient Egyptian temples. Later, you’ll see Penut‘s tomb, the only one of its kind saved from the flood. Inside the burial chamber there are various reliefs showing the life of the buried man as well as his afterlife. Then you will sail near the island with the remains of the old city  of Qaser Ibrahim. The tour is from the deck as no beachgoes, but we will try to swim close enough for you to get a good view.

8th day: Abu Simbel – Lake Nasser Cruise – Day 4

Breakfast on board. Next, you will visit the twin temples of Abu Simbel. The Temple of Ramses II, 30 meters high, the pediment of which is guarded by four giant statues of the pharaoh. The temple was carved directly into the rock, more than 60 meters long and beautifully decorated with columns, colored reliefs and drawings. The Temple of Nefertari, Ramses’ wife, is a simplified version of the Great Temple. Please note: here you will see a unique feature in ancient Egyptian art – the statues of the king and queen that decorate the façade of the temple are equal in size. Free time is completely at your disposal.

9th day: Abu Simbel – Lake Nasser Cruise – Day 5

After breakfast on board, our excursion program is over. We will take you back to your hotel, airport, train station or bus stop.
