Alexandria was founded by the great conqueror Alexander the Great and is famous for its great library, which is considered the largest in the entire world, as well as the Pharos Lighthouse, which is one of the Seven Wonders  of the World. It was built sometime in 1480 AD and was one of the most important defensive fortresses in the Mediterranean. Recently, some restoration work has been carried out and therefore it is now open to numerous visitors.

Next, you’ll visit the Great Library of Alexandria (Biblioteca Alexandrina), which houses about 8 million books. It has a huge reading room with 2000 seats. This library can rightfully be considered one of the greatest in the field of literature.
