Day 1: Wadi Feyran – Valley of the Inscriptions – Valley of Messages – Serabit El Khadem

In the morning, our representative will meet you at the reception of your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Taba or Nubeibe. If you are staying in a hotel in another city in Egypt or in Cairo, we can arrange a transfer for you to Sinai.

You will be taken by jeep  to Wadi Feiran, which is located on the other side of the Sinai Peninsula, so you will have to cross it. Wadi Feiran is the largest in the Sinai Valley and one of the most important archaeological and historical sites in its territory. It is said that it was here that Moses, touching the rock with a reed, gave drink from the spring to the thirsty Israelites. This is evidenced by some remains of ancient churches. And the nature itself here is unusually beautiful:  A lush palm forest surrounded by rough desert and steep cliffs gave Wadi another name  “Pearl of Sinai“. You’ll have some time to rest before heading to Wadi Magara, the so-called Valley of the Inscriptions. The inscriptions on the rocks date back to the early period of the pharaohs of Egypt, when there were mines for the extraction of turquoise and copper. There are several engravings with the names of mine officials. In addition,  The remains of an ancient fortified settlement were discovered here. After lunch, you will travel through Wadi Muqattab, the Valley of Messages, where there are countless ancient paintings and inscriptions in the Nabataean language on the sheer walls of the cliffs. Finally, you’ll pass by Gebel Magara Mountain. You will set up camp upon arrival in Serabit al-Khadem. On the way, make a short stop at the mausoleum of Sheikh Khubos, a religious dignitary highly revered by the locals.

Lunch and dinner are included. Overnight at the campsite.

After descending the mountain, you will have some time to rest and lunch, after which you will meet your new companions,  well-trained camels and their experienced Bedouin guides. You will now head east, crossing the sandy area of Rummlach until you arrive at the unique area  of Himmayer with rock formations and high sand dunes. Set up camp here.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included. Overnight at the campsite.
