Day 1:

We will pick you up right outside your hotel in Aswan; You will recognize our driver by the sign with your name in his hands. He will take you to the airport for your flight to Cairo, where you will be met by our guide.

First of all, you will visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses a huge collection of artifacts, jewelry, statues, sarcophagi, mummies and many other interesting items. Discover the treasures of Egypt’s pharaohs  and delve into the history of amazing civilizations! For an additional fee, you can visit the Hall of the Royal Mummies.

After visiting the museum, you will have lunch at one of the local restaurants in the city.

Then you will have a unique opportunity to visit the Citadel of Salah El-Din, which is located in the heart of Islamic Cairo and was founded by one of the greatest rulers, the legendary Sultan Salah El-Din (better known in Europe as Saladin). He was a successful conqueror and statesman, and in order to protect the city from the European crusaders, he ordered the construction of this fortress. Be sure to see  the Muhammad Ali Mosque,  which is also known as the Alabaster Mosque. This huge mosque looks down on the city from the hill and is a beautiful piece of architecture from the Ottoman period.

Then you will visit the Sultan Hassan Mosque, of fantastic size with its extravagant interior, architectural innovations that testify to the time of its construction. This mosque serves not only for prayers, but also as a madrasah, an educational religious institution.

In the evening, you’ll have plenty of time to stroll through the famous Khan El-Khalili Bazaar and pick up some Egyptian souvenirs. Experience a special element of Arabian culture – bargain! You can also take a walk or  a short felucca ride along the Nile, sit in a café or go shopping in one of the city’s many shopping malls. Or maybe you want to have dinner at the luxury cruise ship or go to Giza to see the light and sound show at the pyramids, very interesting and exciting.

2nd day:

On the second day, in the morning, you will go to visit the ancient capital of Memphis with its ruins, huge statues of Pharaoh Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx.

And then you will visit Saqqara, the ancient cemetery of Memphis, with its monumental tombs of different shapes and in huge numbers (flat, covered, rectangular). One of the most famous is undoubtedly  the Step Pyramid of Djoser. Then you will go to the Great Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza. You’ll be amazed as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, which were built more than 4,500 years ago and still hold the architectural mystery of construction. Be sure to smile at Mr. Sphinx, who has the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh. If you wish, you can ride a camel, visit  the Solar Boat Museum, where there is a piece of engineering, a boat in which Pharaoh Cheops, the builder of the Great Pyramid, was supposed to sail in the afterlife.

Afterwards, you will have lunch at one of the local restaurants in Giza.

The afternoon will start with a tour of Old Cairo, also known as Coptic Cairo, the heart of the city, where its origins originate. You will visit the Fortress of Babel. It is an ancient walled city that is well preserved to this day with many Coptic churches and monuments.

The next stop will be the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, better known as the “Hanging Church” as it was built over the gate of the tower of the Fortress of Babel. It dates back to the 3rd century AD and is therefore one of the oldest and most important Coptic sites. Over the centuries, many reconstructions have been carried out, after the last one the façade was restored (XIX century AD). Feel the spiritual atmosphere,  Enjoy the beautiful interior, many icons (some of them more than 1200 years old), a magnificent main altar with ivory inlays and ebony carvings.

Your program will end with a visit to the Coptic Museum, where Coptic art and Egyptian Christian artifacts have been collected since 1910, from which you can trace the history of Christianity in Egypt.
