4-day camping tour to Siwa Oasis

Day 1: Cairo – Siwa Oasis

Early in the morning, our representative will meet you at your hotel in Cairo to embark on an exciting journey through Siwa Oasis. If you are staying in a hotel in another city in Egypt, such as Luxor or on the Red Sea coast, we can arrange a transfer to Cairo or directly to the oasis. There will be a short stop for lunch on the way.

And now you will begin to discover the extraordinary beauty of a vast green area with lakes and springs in the middle of the desert. A thrilling walk through Shali, the old labyrinth of Siwa, awaits you. Later, you will go to one of the settlements in the desert – the Great Sand Sea that surrounds Siwa. You will set up camp in the middle of the sand dunes, where you will have dinner and spend an amazing night under the starry sky.

Lunch and dinner are included. Overnight at the campsite.

2nd day: Great Sand Sea

After breakfast, you will enjoy traveling by jeep through the Great Sand Sea that surrounds Siwa, with its large sand dunes formed by the wind. There are also numerous fossils, including petrified trees. Here you will have a small picnic. Upon returning to the campsite, you will spend the evening in silence away from the hustle and bustle.

Breakfast, lunch (picnic) and dinner are included. Overnight at the campsite.

3rd day: Great Sand Sea

After breakfast, spend some time among the beautiful dunes. Then, take a tour of Siwa Lake to Fatnas Island, where you can swim or just relax on the picturesque shore surrounded by a wonderful palm grove. Here you will also have lunch. On the way back, you will visit Bir Vahid, a hot spring among the greenery of palm trees, where you can swim. A few meters away there is a small lake,  surrounded by sand dunes, where you will find a beautiful sunset. Finally, you will set up a new camp near the spring, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Siwa Oasis – Cairo

After breakfast, you will visit the mausoleums on the Mountain of the Dead, where you will find beautiful paintings, as well as well-preserved mummies. Then go to Agurmi, an old small settlement in the oasis where the greatest historical treasures of Siwa are located – the ruins of the Temple of Amun and its famous oracle, from which Alexander the Great himself once received an answer. Before lunch, be sure to swim in the Baths of Cleopatra, a hot spring that originates in the mountains. Finally, head back to your hotel in Cairo. This concludes our excursion program.
