Day 1:
We will meet you at your cruise in the port of Sokhna; You will recognize our driver by the sign with your name in his hands. On the way to Cairo, we will make sure to make several stops so that you can enjoy and capture the amazing landscapes.
Upon arrival in Cairo, first of all, you will visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses a huge collection of artifacts, jewelry, statues, sarcophagi, mummies and many other interesting items. Discover the treasures of the pharaohs of Egypt and immerse yourself in the history of amazing civilizations! For an additional fee, you can visit the Hall of the Royal Mummies.
Then you will have a unique opportunity to visit the Citadel of Salah El-Din, which is located in the heart of Islamic Cairo and was founded by one of the greatest rulers, the legendary Sultan Salah El-Din (better known in Europe as Saladin). He was a successful conqueror and statesman, and in order to protect the city from the European crusaders, he ordered the construction of this fortress. You will definitely see the Muhammad Ali Mosque, which is also known as the Alabaster Mosque. This huge mosque looks down on the city from the hill and is a beautiful piece of architecture from the Ottoman period.
Then you will visit the Sultan Hassan Mosque, of fantastic size with its extravagant interior, architectural innovations that testify to the time of its construction. This mosque serves not only for prayers, but also as a madrasah, an educational religious institution.
In the evening, you’ll have plenty of time to stroll through the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar and pick up some Egyptian souvenirs as souvenirs. Taste a special element of Arabian culture – bargain! You’ll also be able to stroll or take a short felucca ride along the Nile, sit in a café or go shopping in one of the city’s many shopping malls. Or maybe you’d like to dine on the luxury cruise ship or go to Giza to see the light and sound show on the pyramids, which is also very interesting and exciting.
2nd day:
On the second day, you will visit the ancient capital of Memphis with its ruins, huge statues of Pharaoh Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx.
And then you will visit Saqqara, the ancient cemetery of Memphis, with its monumental tombs of different shapes and in huge numbers (flat, covered, rectangular). One of the most famous is undoubtedly the Step Pyramid of Djoser.
After lunch at one of the local restaurants, you will go to visit the pyramids of Giza. This is one of the important landmarks of Egypt: the giant pyramids built for the pharaohs Cheops, Chephren and Menkaure. You will be amazed by one of the Seven Wonders of the World, which were built more than 4500 years ago and still hold the architectural secret of construction. Be sure to smile at Mr. Sphinxhaving the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh.
If you wish, you can ride a camel, visit the Solar Boat Museum, where there is a piece of engineering art, a boat in which Pharaoh Cheops, the builder of the Great Pyramid, was supposed to sail in the afterlife.
You’ll also have some free time to explore Cairo. You can go shopping, sit in a café or take a short felucca ride along the Nile.
In the evening you will depart on the way back to your cruise, to the port of Sokhna.
